Rachel C. Plews works as an Educational Consultant/Pedagogical Advisor in the Center for Teaching Support at the Haute école pédagogique Vaud (Lausanne) where she coordinates ongoing professional development and pedagogical support for faculty members. Her research interests include technology in education, self-directed learning, and faculty development. Prior to joining HEP, Rachel worked as a pedagogical advisor at the Ecole hoteliere de Lausanne. Rachel completed her doctoral studies at Teachers College, Columbia University, from which she holds an Ed.D. in Adult Learning and Leadership. She earned a M.Ed. in Teaching, Learning, & Technology from Lehigh University, and she has taught various undergraduate courses in education and hospitality programs. Rachel is a graduate of the School of Hotel Administration at Cornell University and worked in sales and marketing before moving into higher education.
